Yeah cheers :). Feel free to add me if you're in, battletag Logain#1158.

Seems to be a pretty small beta, so one weekend open is plenty to try it out.

Pretty unstable so far though :(, a lot of login problems all the time.

What are people's favorite classes / mechanics so far?

Playing with Logar now... although I'm waiting atm with him to get back in.
Only played Monk... and I have to say I like the style... do hope on more fist weapons though. And I guess they're really testing the login procedures atm.. so thats why they do encourage us to keep on trying.

Yeah on the forums there are reports of at least 6 different errors concerning the login procedure ;)

So far I've tried Witch Doctor, Demon Hunter and Sorcerer and must say I am drawn most to the magic-using classes, the demon hunter felt a bit weak with the 'standard' skills and a lot of single target stuff, especcially compared to the mass aoe stuff the witch doctor and sorcerer have.

I really like the rune system, it gives me a great sense of progress when a new rune is unlocked and I am able to 'upgrade' a skill ^^, also with around 30*5 skills around, it seems to give great customization ^__^

Later on the evening I tried a Sorcerer... didn't finish the beta with this since it got to late, but got it till level 6 or so. Didn't feel that good to me. Standard spell was pretty weak and I found the play style somewhat annoying compared to the monk. After I got the orb AoE thingy it got better though... so maybe on higher levels its even better. Atm I'll choose a monk... although Logars Witch Doctor also looked interesting to play. But do get those arms away from me :P

I'm probably going for kung fu monk as well, although barbarian still holds a small running chance ;-).
I'd like to build a 'tanky' class, and monk seems really interesting with the combo mechanics.

I'm probably going for the witch doctor as my first class, seems it has a bit more interesting mechanics compared to the sorceress and more durability for the higher difficulty settings.

I played the Wizard, Demon Hunter and the witch docter. And I will play the Demon hunter or Wizard.

I always played melee characters so I want to play ranged.

I like the Demon Hunter since it shoots and I like shooting things :p

@ Solidus, how long did u play the demon hunter since his basic attacks do attack more then one target (piercing spell) and as secondary spell you get the rapid fire spell wich alowes you tou hit more then one target. As far as I know almost every spell attacks up to 2 enemys (maybe not all dmg but cc spells are handy too)

Played it up untill the skeleton king (around lvl 9). Its true that most of its spells hit more than 1, but it felt less powerfull compared to the cleave-explosions the other classes had. For example, where the demon hunter hits maybe 2-3 targets, the barbarian cleaves his way through 4-5 targets, which explode on death, causing a chain reaction which terminates the entire room.

It looks like the demon hunter will really become strong in the higher difficulties when kiting and battle-control become more important. It seems like a character which is really strong against bosses also. Just not my playstyle, maybe.

I don't really expect the demon hunter to 'be weak', although it felt a bit like that in beta. It'll either get changed on higher levels, or the hunter will get balanced.
Out of all the classes this one was the least interesting for me though. As dwain said in the game we played, it was just point and shoot. The wizard/barbarian are also a bit simplistic in damagedealing, however wizard has the 'glass cannon' mechanic which you have to take into account and the barbarian has the sheer brutality/rampage up close that he has going for him. I missed something like that with the demon hunter. To be honest, I was slightly bored whilst playing it. This was the only character where that happened.

I really expected demon hunter to be alot more awesome then it was.
The resource management system has the potential to become quite interesting at higher levels, seeing as you have 'hatred' and 'Discipline' resource bubbles, but going from beta experience I'm not taking that risk at least ^^.

After some long thinking I decided to order a copy... so I'm also now officially on the bandwagon.
So now I tentatively ask if there is interest in a multi player on-line evening?

I'm definately interested, although keep in mind 4 is the party limit.

Btw after some long thinking ? I thought you were on the bandwagon all along ;-) ? What were your doubts ?

Well I'm still pretty deep into SW territory and I do want to at least finish the story line of my main. But some others are also very interesting. That and I mostly enjoy gaming in a group... which didn't really pan out as I had hoped for SW.
So adding another game made me think... eventually playing the beta and seeing the potential for single play did help decide in favour of buying. That and the no extra fee for this game also helped :)
Yes I know 4 is the limit... but I don't expect a lot of ppl wanting to play and even are able to play on the times I can. So it was more a very careful poking around to see what responses I would get.

I'm definitely up for some gamenights every now and then ^^, a pre-determined evening every week is a bit too much for me though, don't think I have time for it every week.

I like the idea of joining in a group now and then :) it's not always possible ofcourse but in this game it's more easy to do so I guess..

Now I really know alot of people who pre-ordered the game! :o (IronE is buying too.. I asked Khazmo but he was afraid that he would play to much diablo instead of studying ;))

You know when somebody is stating it like that, sooner or later he'll buy it in a moment of weakness ;p

So with the launch nearby... are there worldservers or something we have to choose? Or is it just 'the EU server' and we can all see each other and play?

You just pick the european realm and start a game, as long as you flag the game as public, people (not sure, maybe only people in your friendlist) can dynamically join in on your game and the mobs will adjust their difficulty according to the new number of players.

So there is no need for dedicated servers :)
